Whipsnade Zoo

This could be the last time I visit a zoo. I am unsure if my displeasure has come with age or with the growing awareness surrounding the care and livelihood of the animals in captivity.

The day out to the zoo was a family trip over to Dunstable, just over an hour drive out of London to the North West. Arriving midday on site with the sunny blue skies opening we strolled around the 600 acres of parkland of Whipsnade Zoo, the UK largest.

Most of the enclosures were empty or had one lonely and sad looking individual within. The highlight of the trip was the giraffe enclosure, they were content with being gently fed by the public.
