Lucerne Lake

We took the afternoon train from Zurich into Lucerne centre station, greeted with the stretch of glistening water and leaving the busy train station behind us.

The Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) takes centre stage, spanning across the Reuss River. The wooden bridge is one of the main attractions in Lucerne, stretching around 200metres and one of the oldest bridges in Europe built in the 14th Century.

It was a delightful stroll and experience through the bridge, squeezing between the local commuters and the picture taking tourists. The only negative is that the north side leads you to the front door of Starbucks.
